Study: Transcriptome analysis in Rhizophagus irregularis
show Abstracthide Abstract
To identify differentially expressed genes of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungus Rhizophagus irregularis during AM symbiosis, we performed transcriptome analysis using illumina Hiseq2000. Total RNA was isolated from the fungus in axenic, strigolactone-treated and monoxenic culture. In axenic and strigolactone-treated culture, germinated spores or elongated mycelia were harvested at a day and a week after inoculation, respectively. In monoxenic culture, R. irregularis and Daucus carota or Medicago truncatula were cocultivated, only extraradical mycelia were harvested at 4, 6 and 8 weeks after spore inoculation, respectively.
